Balletto Monson has a unique artistic identity, demanding versatile dancers with exceptional proficiency in both Classical and Contemporary dance. Our dancers must seamlessly blend these styles while delivering compelling, expressive performances.
The Junior Company is designed to enhance the skills, confidence, and professional experience of graduates pursuing a dance career. We welcome applicants who have completed a three-year professional training program, such as a BA/BFA (Hons) in Dance Performance or the Trinity Level 6 Diploma in Dance Performance.
As an extension of Balletto Monson’s distinct company style, the Junior Company provides dancers with the opportunity to refine their technique in Contemporary Ballet. This training serves as a stepping stone for potential progression into the main company or other professional opportunities within the industry.
We recognise that securing a job immediately after full-time training can be a daunting challenge. Many training programmes focus on technical proficiency but may not be tailored to support each dancer’s individual career path. At Balletto Monson Junior Company, we bridge that gap by offering a targeted, professional development experience that equips dancers with the skills, versatility, and industry insight necessary to transition seamlessly into professional companies.
Unlike traditional junior companies that focus solely on preparing dancers for their own main company—often without guaranteeing positions—Balletto Monson Junior Company is committed to supporting each dancer in achieving their individual career goals. While we maintain a close relationship with our main company, our priority is to provide dancers with the training, experience, and confidence needed to succeed wherever their careers take them. When positions arise within the main company, we prioritise dancers who have trained in the Junior Company, recognising the value of their preparation and growth within our system.
We believe that all dancers accepted onto a programme deserve the same level of attention, support, and opportunities. Our approach ensures that every dancer receives equal access to high-quality training, real-world performance experience, and the professional guidance necessary to build a sustainable career in the industry.
Our programme is uniquely designed to prepare dancers for ballet companies that require a high level of contemporary skill, as well as companies specialising in Contemporary or Modern Ballet. Through intensive training, repertoire work, and live performance opportunities, dancers refine their artistry under the guidance of seasoned professionals. Additionally, they gain exposure to a diverse range of choreographic styles, fostering adaptability and confidence in varied professional settings.
At Balletto Monson Junior Company, we do not just train dancers—we mentor, support, and position them for success in the competitive world of dance. Our focus is not only on technical excellence but also on nurturing individuality, creativity, and professional readiness, so that each dancer can carve their own unique path in the industry.
